Hong Kong Egg Waffles!

This unique waffle is characterized by a bubble-like visual, and a pull-apart soft texture. It's original Cantonese name is "gai daan jai." It is usually served hot and plain, but flavors such as strawberry, ginger, green-tea, chocolate, and more are popular.

This is made in an eggy leavened batter and cooked between two plates with semi-spherical indents, giving it a visual appearance similar to honeycomb. The waffle is known for its contrast in the crispy outer shell and inner softness.
